i think releasing a song with PWF's sound was a biT too soon, it's so not what's popping in Korea in terms of GG's, and Stay isn't the typical korean ballad either
he should've put out something lighter and girlier/cuter
the fact that it's battling viral-ready songs like VeryX3 and TT
It doesn't help that BP's fanbase is non-existent compared to Twice and IOI's either
They would definitely have smashed if it wasn't for all of the industry's powerhouses releasing all at once. YG's obsession with competition should STOP
at this moment, I think people are overreacting. Like... okay the song isn't #1 on melon. It's not the end of the world It has strong competition from the likes of the top girl group in kpop, the top female soloist in kpop and Produce 101 girls
The posts in here make it seem as if the song is outside the T10 or even the T20
Gfriend sneaked in at perfect timing and racked up 30 wins and two huge smashes this year, yg is so stupid

it's just..they have potential for big things, but yg releasing them right after TWICE and IOI subsided the hype which is the one thing they need since they're rookies. Next thing you know they could turn into non-events like Winner

I have to admit, I was shaking when WINNER released Baby Baby and Sentimental thinking it would smash, but yg has already ruined them by then, made me so happy
Blackpink's song deserves the roof of melon, no less than that, I'm sorry. The fact they're not there is YG's fault. These girls need more exposition, a reality show, build a fanbase. Do they even have a Vapp Channel???
If a group like BTS from a small company has been able to get bigger than EXO (outside of Asia) and almost as big in Korea based only on quality music + FAN SERVICE I'm sure BP has the potential to be as big as Twice everywhere too. Their visuals are on par with Twice, if not better, they have the music (Teddy) and plus they seem to be vocally talented as well.
Girl groups are much more risky to launch in K-Pop though, y'all should know that by now.
JYP was lucky with TWICE that there was a whole show featuring potential members so the GP were already familiar with the group once they debuted.
Blackpink is doing fine, Square One was successful and they made a big impact.
I hate to compare but BP's debut went much smoother than Red Velvet's. They had a scandal right on debut and also f(x) fans spread hate about them because of what happened with Red Light.
YG could do better but right now they seem to be giving BP good music, high budget MVs and they are doing some promotions as well. I don't think it's that bad?
