For the millionth time, the Grammys are not an organization but rather the collective decision of thousands of separate people with different opinions. Unless they all get together and decide they actually care enough about what people say to change their own opinions they're not gonna give out awards like that

Considering literally none cared about Chris Stapleton until last year's CMAs, where he had a very big breakthrough night, and shortly thereafter got an AOTY nom from the Grammys (whose nominations period came just days after the CMAs), it's quite obvious that the Grammy voters are incredibly susceptible to hype and that their picks are based almost entirely on extra-musical factors
