everytime im in the car with my mom tho, i play mostly kpop and she doesnt even say a word. most of the time she doesnt even notice & i ask her "is it okay if i play this? its just kpop" and she doesnt care & it made me so happy for some reason lol, she's pretty chill tbh
but everytime she goes on the MNET channel & sees a music video playing, she yells my name & screams 'YOUR ASIANS ARE ON TV!'
Apply for some Wife Swap style reality show or something so we can talk about flop girl groups together and I don't have to smile and nod my way through a conversation about BTS, BAP and EXO again.
I linked them to her album and her performances a day after
But they never replied to it
Queen of being unnoticed I guess
I had a similar experience
My ringtone was OMG's Closer for a while and one time my phone rang and my friend thought it was pretty and asked me to send it to her
I can't at y'all avoiding k-conversation like it's the plague, whilst I talk about it in my Uni personal statement.

I only meant to have it on for the morning as a trial. But I totally forgot I had an appointment alarm set that day and it went off during my writing class
It was SO embarrassing and my clock app crashed when I was trying to turn it off so it kept on playing.
Literally my worst moment ever. Everyone was staring.
I had to run out of there and pretend I was taking a call. NEVER again
I had this experience with a Camp Rock soundtrack song in year 7 (11 yrs old)
True but in Jamaica, it's really bad. No matter what east-Asian country you're from or what your name is, they're going to call you Chin (if you're young), Mr. Chin (if you're a man) or Ms. Chin (if you're a woman). Every single one.

My mom has the IOI song for my brother but she probably considers it some sort of parody song like Crazy Frog. I really am surprised that not once has she stepped into my room and asked me: "Lili, ah who dem Chiney man deh y'aa listen to all di time and deh pon di wall? "
("Why do you keep listening to Chinese music 24/7 and who are those Chinese men on your wall?")
To Jamaicans, everyone from Eastern Asia is Chinese
