I hate to use the term local act but... compared to Blackpink and Twice who come from companies and have members with large built in audience cults outside of Korea, Gfriend are a local act. But China and Japan are on their way to being part of their local...

Girl just wants to be an idol so bad (and Kimi started out as a jazz singer
). Not counting her attempt to join I.O.I, Kimi is now on to her third girl group (that we know of). She's kinda like Nara from HelloVenus who has delayed the inevitable modeling/acting career for almost a decade now just to chase the dream of being a "singer."
Of course, the inevitable for Kimi is environmental design. Unless a miracle happens...
