They will be back. There's too much money available to be made at a time when it's so hard to make money in the music business.
But besides that, I was thinking about the resentment the I.O.I girls have faced from their I.O.I fanbase when they went back to their "home" groups, and if at the end of their January concert or whatever, if they don't announce/lie that they're coming back in 2018 just to give fans any hope, there's going to be even more bitter yeah-but-they're-not-I.O.I sentiment facing all these groups that are just going to get burred by GFRIEND, Twice, Blackpink, etc., anyway.

Matilda is so clearly Mamamoo with an attempt at more relevant k-pop music as opposed to the applied music thesis projects that usually end up happening. Always thought Mamamoo was sorta the new 2ne1 but jazzified (back when Blackpink was just a punchline), and now Matilda is trying to bring Mamamoo's skilled, slightly off aesthetics and quirky faux lesbianism with a 2ne1 sound. Pledis swindled so much money, time and resources from Fantagio through this deal, it's surprising they haven't been sued for fraud -- maybe if a bigger/richer company ever acquires Pledis, Fantagio will then release the hounds.
