The production on Hey Girl is something else. Did Ronson produce it? It sounds very Tame Impala but with this wonderful ethereal layer plus Florence's beautiful hymns and Gaga's soft vocals. The lyrics are so nostalgic and dreamlike. I love it too much.
NP: Blood Orange, now it all makes sense
finally someone with good taste
Call me delusional, but Dancin' In Circles would fit the tropical house trend on radio right now, imo. I mean, that bridge.
It's an instant favorite for me, the way Alejandro, Heavy Metal Lover and Sexxx Dreams were. It has the same cool, enigmatic and lush vibe as these three.
It reminds me of the effortless cool that she projected during The Fame, which the soft baby-esque voice and club beat, except evolved and better.
Angel Down, Sinner's Prayer, Come to Mama, Diamond Heart and Dancing In Circles are my favorites so far (Just Another Day will join them as soon as its released ahah). I love John Wayne, Million Reasons, Perfect Illusion... I like Hey Girl (might grow on me later), Joanne. I like A-Yo but it's the "worst" song on the album for me.
why do all songs sound like she is singing live?
I miss the autotune from her older eras
Honestly, this. She doesn't even necessarily need auto-tune. Just RERECORD THE F**ING PARTS THAT ARE OUT OF TUNE! GEEZUS. So many parts of the album are unlistenable because of this.
