It depends on who you are. If you are a 40 y/o white man, Bruce Springsteen may very well feel bigger than, say, Demi Lovato. (His last album reached #1 in the US, Demi #2). But to us teens + young adults, Demi might feel bigger.

No it did not "Womanizer" was a much bigger hit than "Applause". "Circus" was a much bigger hit than "Do What U Want".

The album opened with 500k and sold 1.7m in the US, and 4m worldwide, whereas ARTPOP only did 260k/750k in the US and 2m worldwide.

And the tour grossed $140m, almost double the ARTPOP tour.

Kii @ slobro bringing out IFPI's list again. ARTPOP hasn't sold 2.3M TOTAL let alone in 2013 alone. AbdulGa's obsession and thirst for chart was probably the reason why the album was overshipped (what IFPI is based off).
