Joan of Arc really IS lovely and shame on her for not making part of the Rebel Heart Tour set list Every time she gets to "anything they did to me, said to me", my heart is scooped up and carried away. Plus I always get a kick out of how her voice is rendered gauzy and coated via studio magic, the sonic equivalent of an aging movie queen switching to the soft focus lens.
She really sells the song with her tenderness and vulnerability. That honeyed voice she uses so well is as emotive and crystalline as ever. Great track with a gorgeous sentiment that I think most every person on this planet must be able to relate to. I love it so much.
It's like she went to the studio one day, decided to mess around with her voice, throw some random lyrics on a basic beat, and then told William "Hey include this on my new album! I wanna be cool!"
Some g0rls like to flirt and play
Some grrrls always get their way
Some boys never know why
Some gurls like to scream and shout
Some gyals put themselves about
Some boys never know why
I never clicked into the Gaga shade in 'Some Girls' at the time.
Wrap your arms around my neck
It's time to deal, so cut the deck
If you want to play this game with me
I'm not like all the rest Some girls are second best
Put your loving to the test, you'll see

Don't go for second best, baby
Put your love to the test, you know
"Some Gods" is a BOP and I demand ya'll repent. You girls are running amok in here - no wonder ThatBadEartha has fled the base, she could barely handle me refusing to believe debut was M ha best work, let alone ya'll slandering M ha recent BOPS.
