I really wonder what LG5 would be like had ARTPOP done well commercially. I feel like she's forcing herself to make music that won't sell well so she can avoid the mental breakdowns.
This is why I try to not abuse the replay button when listening to western pop
Thankfully I avoid the issue with KPOP due to high replay value (for example: Pink Tape)

started college and literally nobody knows about Rise, Make Me, or Perfect Illusion...the fact that the promo just isn't sticking for the main girls anymore it's really discouraging...people don't really have faves anymore since the music is getting less personal itself. These EDM songs are always super generic in theme so they're basically disposable hits.

Well Rise had no real promo and wasn't on Spotify playlists which is where the majority of the GP find out about new music these days first. That and radio, where Rise was also not supported because it was supposed to just be for the Olympics. There is no excuse for Make Me or Perfect Illusion other than the GP just don't care.
