Okay I really really really enjoyed this.

I'm so happy the 'creepy' vibe of AHS back, the campy horror vibe was fun in Coven but then I felt it was used way too much in the latter seasons and took away the magic a bit for me. I really hope it stays this way.

I'm sad gaga wasn't in it, but looks like she'll be in the next one, I know she's not gonna have a big part but I hope she is in multiple episodes. Same with Evan, I know he was in the credits so I hope he appears soon/is in it for a long time.

At first I was sad that the title credits have gone, but now I kinda like it.


Like most other people - my only small gripe is this weird documentary style, I'm not sure what to make of it. Unless there is a huge twist (I pray to Ryan there is) it's stupid as we basically would know all of the main characters survive. It also has a tendency to pull you out of the show when it flips back to Lily etc... I kinda hope the point of that is important and Ryan hasn't just done it to make the feel of the show different, I hope it's purposeful.

Oh and also at how similar this feels to Murder House, I hope it branches away from that as the season goes on.

I'm interested to see how the story will go, cause if the characters had any sense they would MOVE out now and that would be the end of the season so I'm intrigued to see where their story is taken.

Those are my thoughts! Thank god it looks like Ryan is pulling the quality back!

i'd much rather have all 10 episodes be this documentary thingy than have the actors be haunted by the ghosts on the film set or something. one way to turn it into a mess again

Imagine if they do a "Return to Roanoke" episode as the finale where the cast and "real" characters return to the house, and then they all get butchered live on TV by Kathy and ha cult. The last scene would then just cut to static and the season is over.

Man this was soo different from Hotel. Legit creepy and while not very scary or repulsive it did a great job setting this intense atmosphere that had me on my feet the whole time. Especially the hot tub scene.

Sarah is such a great actress I'm excited for more.

Finished watching the first Episode and have to say I did really enjoy it, not the best season premiere of AHS but pretty strong nonetheless. The acting was spot-on (Sarah really great this season), the atmosphere was creepy, and the set was perfect for the tone. I think S6 will be a slow burner, but I reckon a few episodes in and it will go crazy in classic AHS style. My two gripes are though...

Where on earth are the opening credits? They're classic AHS and they could have used some really awesome imagery for them (like the MH/Coven opening).

I hope the 'documentary' narrative doesn't last for the whole season, it was cool at first but became tiring even towards the end of episode of EP1. I hope the writers have something truly great up their sleeve, because it's nothing special atm.

The first time Sarah and Cuba appeared it literally said "dramatic renaactment" on the screen. Have y'all never watched a true crime or a hollywood true story show? They do these all the time. They hire actors that look like the real people while these narrate. Sarah and Cuba are actors. Supposedly.

Six seasons in and finally putting Horror in AHS, color me snatched

I just saw the first episode. This is the second time I have tried to get into the show. I watched the premiere episode of Hotel too see the good sis Gags but found it to be way too boring and not-scary despite all the blood and gore.

I was not expecting the show to be a spoof of those tacky Discovery Channel/Crime + Investigation channel docu-series but it gave the show a unique perspective to bolster the generic plot of a couple moving into a new (albeit haunted) house. However, I think the gimmick may become tiresome pretty quickly.

The acting was great! It was nice to see Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. together on screen again (everyone should watch American Crime Story, which was thrilling, even with Ryan Murphy involved). I loved the set.

My main problem with the premiere episode was that it was not scary whatsoever. I was expecting jump scares and twists and the show to carry a sense of eeriness but at times I felt like I was watching Scary Movie or a slightly grown up version of Scream Queens. Is AHS supposed to be a spoof/satire like SQ? If so, it managed to capture the tackiness of those Discovery Channel documentaries perfectly. I think the rest of the season could be pretty good but for a high profile cable network horror series, it felt very... CBS.
