Animated Film is actually very competitive this year with Zootopia, Moana, Kubo, Red Turtle, Finding Dory all contending for nominations, plus there are a few other really acclaimed foreign films, Sing, Secret Life of Pets, Ice Age 5, Kung Fu Panda sequel, etc.

Well, Negga got a lot of great reviews from the Cannes premiere of Loving for what is supposed to be a nuanced and standout performance. Add in the subject matter and it could appeal to a lot of voters. However, it's a really competitive category this year, so her nom doesn't seem so certain atm.

Well, I think Michelle as Supporting Actress is a lock basically as of now. I would have loved to see her as a Best Actress but an Oscar is an Oscar.

And wtf, Mara is so not boring. I love her acting because she's so subtle in every role she plays, but so detailed and she has this immense talent in giving depth to characters without even trying. I hope she gets nominated again next year!
