Beyst is winning 2016 so far but it's kind of embarrassing how she cannot get a hit. "Hold Up" is already plummeting and never made it to the Top 10, and that song should be a smash.
It was in tha top 10 before, the only VMA boost that stuck was Side to Side and that was obviously due to the video release
Gaga should just release an album out of nowhere as a new artist, digitally alter her voice, and privately invest in radio payola for some new artist no one has ever heard of.

I don't think she's ever going to get a true smash ever again if she continues down the route she's been on over the past few years. Which is OK, since she's at her best, but god, just put your music on places where people can listen.
The Gaga brand is outdated. She should change her stage name to something else.
I already CLOCKED that tea before even Applause vs Roar.

Now she has to live up to the Gaga world she's created and please her Little Monsters, it's just going to shun the public away even more. Lady Gaga is a character artist. She's 100% image. Artists like Madonna and David Bowie are artists who play characters on their albums, at the end of the day Madonna is Madonna, David Bowie is David Bowie. Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson would be like if David Bowie had originally called himself Ziggy Stardust from the get-go and had to base his music off of the character Ziggy Stardust from the themes to the fashion, e.t.c.
Madonna and Bowie can be anything they want on an album, that's why they're known for re-invention. Lady Gaga and Manson really can't re-invent their character, it's the reason why she runs the risk of limiting themselves to a niche role in music.
What killed Gaga really was catering too much to the 'little monsters' (and I'm not using that in the ATRL sense to describe any fan, but the HARDCORE stans). They convinced her to focus exclusively on them and to make everything about the gays, and it destroyed her image and coolness with the general public, and, ironically, limited how far the message of acceptance she was preaching would reach.
What she should have done is release a self-actualizing bravery anthem if she wanted to, but make the lyrics universal and well-written (none of that "subway kid rejoice your truth" mess), and pair with a video that explores LGBT issues in a tactful and artistic way. Kinda like how "Take Me to Church" did it.
