You're overreacting - he was doing that to make her feel more comfortable and to loosen her up. Britney was just super quiet; the only other guest he's had that issue with is Mariah because she was the first one and kinda uncomfortable.
She showed a cute personality and that she's still the same sweet Britney the world fell in love with so I would count this as a success.
They should have more inventive frame narratives for each artist.
