Gaga kinda started the beginning of SJWism before Beyoncé made herself the face of it in 2013. Now SJWs drag her and spend their days writing "think pieces" about how problematic she is. This is why I hate society right now. **** the modern world!
Lol arguing who made more of an impact on the gay community. Meanwhile i bet not one of you **** has ever did anything for the LGBT community.. Now where is the logic in that?
Anyway, Gaga & Katy have both Trevor Awards. Not even after Loose's pandering in Welcome to NY she got one.
Kacey Musgraves released a COUNTRY single in where she mentioned liking the same sex, now that's courage. Did Taylor mention homosexuality at all besides in a non-single from her (fifth) pop album?
Nobody said Gaga invented the gay rights movement but in POP MUSIC nobody with her popularity was ever vocal about it apart from Madonna in 1992 with Erotica + AIDS.
Guess you haven't listened to The Velvet Rope or gone to a Cher show. But I generally agree with you and Gui is totally glossing over Gaga's influence. It was a combo of good timing and iconic imagery to carry her messages, but she was undeniably helpful for the late 2000s/early 2010s progress.
She was stood next to a notorious homophobe and in front of the entire world, in a time when homosexuality was a taboo, and thanked god and the gays - a conservative Christian's nightmare. So inspiring.
I only stan for Katy's music. So I don't care to defend her in that regard. Her past is extremely problematic and I'm sure she's taken actions to rectify them. Kinda like Rihanna lied to the media and went back to her abuser.
Meanwhile, I stan for Beyonce's everything. And on that front I can attest that she's virtually spotless and unproblematic.
It's so awful when people 'drag' Rihanna for getting stuck in the cycle of abuse. You realize she was the victim right? And you also realize Beyoncé did a very similar thing in forgiving Jay for being a serial cheater?
Yeah Gags thanking God and the gays in the same sentence next to Eminem (notorious homophobe) is kind of an iconic mic-drop moment that really stuck with me as a young gay

Internet fomos having the same impact as famous musicians. Where's the logic in that?
