He has been playing well and they seem to have great chemistry. He knows how much Venus wants it and doesn't want to let her down. They would have been out in the first round if he hadn't made that amazing save!

Monica Puig was incredible. This was the biggest match of her life but she was so focused from start to finish, even when Kerber responded with some brilliant play and by taking the 2nd set. A lot of people have struggled to hit through this really slow court but Puig made it look so easy against one of the best defenders in the game. One of the best performances in a tennis final ever.

The Delpo/Nadal semi-final was amazing too. Some people say the Olympics don't matter in tennis but it clearly matters to the players.

Watching those matches back-to-back was a way better 1-2 than any of the slams this year. JMDP looked fresher than Nadull after their match imo, if he plays like that again Andy can kiss goodbye to the first two golds in tennis.

I'd like to appreciate our Czechia players who really made me proud. No one expected a medal from singles, Petra done an excellent job, if only she kept the momentum from the second set against Puig, but oh well, medal is a medal, not everybody has that.

Bára/Andrea and Lucys slaying in doubles, woo, shame they couldn't make the one last step (despite having matchballs against Martina/Timea, or setpoints against Vesna and Maki respectively).

Kerber never gave up. She was fighting up until the last match point was converted.

Things were just going really well for Puig. Hitting the lines all the time and she had a couple of net cords. Plus the minor back injury from Kerber. Was annoying for Kerber, but she still gave it everything and the last game was pretty epic.

Puig was damn lucky, tbh. Angie was having problems with her back early on and gave Monica a lot of confidence. She was zoning like crazy. Going for so many risky on the line shots and making practically all of them is like mega low procentage play. Especially on slow hard. Add all those damn net cords... Puig basically bought a lottery ticket and won.

Still such a great story for small Puerto-Rico. Must have meant so much for them.

Tbf though Angie saved a MP on a lucky net cord. Monica's gameplan paid off big time, if she played high percentage tennis vs. Kerber she'd always come off worse as Angie does all of that better and is the best defender rn. Monica was all over Angie's second serve too.

I'll be happy if Andy snatches the second gold purely because of Britain's medal table (poor China her wig) but JMDP would be so awesome
