it was supposed to be dramatically overacted, have you never seen a silent movie before? oh wait, you're from this generation so i doubt you even know what silent movie is. Anyways, we'll talk when Burlesque comes out

i like how Gaga, Rihanna, and Jay-z are all playing off this Illuminatti speculation mercilessly... their parody's make the whole illuminati/ devil worshipping / mind control conspiracy theories out to be the joke that they ARE

Um, "Bad Romance" contained that artistry and substance. "Paparazzi" as well. "Telephone", as GaGa even said in the E! interview, is a shallow, catchy Pop song. She doesn't have to be serious each time she does a video. This video was created to be fun, flashy, etc. And people aren't just loving it for the outfits and gimmicks (?). The choreography is another step up for her, the story is interesting, and so on.
You're being a bit too serious. GaGa is over the top. Doesn't matter what Gwen decides to do, this is how GaGa likes to display herself.

You make a good point. I know it's a "shallow, catchy Pop song" but that also doesn't mean she can't make a concise video either. This song doesn't require all the pretense and the constant interruption for spoken interludes. Also, it's frustrating that people want to call her out for being a visionary genius when the majority of what she wears and creates is the product of someone else's design.
And read my first post closer, I praised "Bad Romance."

but does the song require that the "pretense" and "constant interruption" NOT be there?
Also, she IS a visionary genius because she is the creative mind behind her career. her videos, tour, performances, fashion, and musical CONCEPTS origionate in her head. that dosen't mean that every detail needs to be created by her. the fact that she wrote the script for the video and realized it in such an effective way is what makes her a visionary......

I noticed your praise, just making extra note. Your opinion is understandable now that you have provided more than the general "I hate it." (loosely). Your initial criticism wasn't as explicative.

Let's just agree to disagree.
My point was she could easily have made an effective video without embellishing every little detail. "LoveGame" and "Eh, Eh" were wild and spontaneous without being gratuitous. "Telephone" is not the kind of song that requires a bloated, overwrought video.

Watched the video, finally.
The first cuts of the music video are aces. The initial section where a choreography is needed have been well executed, most notably with the turns. I would also like to give commendations to the look and the internal set of prison; wild and outrageous. With regards to the storyline, it was eccentric and to some extent creative but generally not as enthralling as the human trafficking issue "Bad Romance" served.
My problem with the whole presentation of this music mini-movie clip revolves around with the stretched exhibition of the entire concept itself. If the whole visioned outcome would've been jampacked within the 4 minutes duration of the casual music film, the shock factor GaGa considered in every effort she's making could have been achieved. A little frill was dragged and a lot of unnecessary points were included. I say "overdone".
Nonetheless, it was worth watching.

Ok, since we have no idea what the view count is on Telephone I looked at the rating count on some current videos just to compare:
Kesha BBB 7,901 ratings (4/5 stars) --- added Feb 23 (18 days ago)
Imma Be 10,554 ratings (4.5/5 stars) ---- added Feb 16 (25 days ago)
Telephone 10,778 ratings (5/5 stars) ----- added a couple hours ago
Edit: 150,000 views. They just updated

Do you really want to go there? Especially with that individual in your avatar who hasn't had a #1 song in almost a decade, or a top 3 song since 2003?
<------------
ANYWAY. Mixed feelings about the video. I thought the beginning (before the song kicks in) was alright, but then everything just be came a little bit unnecessary. I thought the acting was a bit cringe worthy, but other than that it was okay.

Lmao....and your idol has been in the industry for 10 years and had only one #1 song until now. Embarrassing.
And love your pressed review of Telephone video. Watch it again and see what a well made music video looks like. I know your fav hasnt delivered in that department since Toxic.

I know im late but I just saw the premiere on E! with my mom. All I can say is WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom thought she was crazy and asked me why GAGA was acting like this, then she saw the part where gaga looked like Madonna then she fell back in love with her.
I really liked it but I thought they butchered the song which wasnt that good to start with, and there was way tooooo much commentary in between the song. I didnt care much for the outfits and extra stuff in the video, but I really liked the dance moves in the beginning and end of the video. Anyways I think gaga topped even herself with all this craziness in this video. All I can say is Gimme morrr GAGA!!!
Btw why was the other thread closed? lol
