Now that Drake's "Views" is a certified multi-week number 1 album and is considered to be one of the front-runners for Grammy AOTY along with fellow multi-week number 1 album "25" by Adele. Will Drake win the biggest prize in music that is the Grammy Album of The Year if he's nominated or one between Adele and Beyonce will break the mold and snatch?
I'm asking because of the fact that no nominated albums that spent more than 10 weeks at #1 on Billboard 200 has ever lost the award since 1994.
Below is the list of nominated albums that spent at least 11 weeks and how they fared at the Grammys since 1994.
Adele, 21 -- 24 (WON)
Whitney Houston/Soundtrack, The Bodyguard -- 20 (WON)
Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill -- 12 (WON)
Santana, Supernatural -- 12 (WON)
Taylor Swift - Fearless - 11 (WON)
Taylor Swift - 1989 - 11 (WON)
Drake, Views -- 12 (PENDING)
Is there a trend or is this just coincidence? Post your thoughts.
