I think we need to consider the fact that when many artists are asked about their influences they often site artists they simply "admire" or artists that inspired them to become musicians. Those are the questions answered to make artists look diverse and educated on music history. And many will be reluctant to say who their music is truly inspired by, in fear of being called a carbon copy.

Why has Rita Ora named every other artist under the sun thats not Rihanna a musical influence? It doesn't so much matter what the artist alleges when the proof is already in the pudding.

I wouldn't say so. Bey has always been pretty straight forward R&B with a mixture of what's current on urban radio/some pop.

Everyine cites her as being and amazing performer and singer! Which she is. Musically she isn't that influential because she hasn't defined a sound.

At least not yet and I swear I'm not starting **** but Rihanna is the only pop star who has not only made many writers and producers(See Sia and Calvin Harris, they were known before but it was their collab with Rih that put them on the map) famous by giving them hits but also who has the most "copy cats". There are tons of people trying to imitate her and when you hear a song you can tell this was written for Rihanna.
