I like the Pokémon announced yesterday. The fairy that's a lei is a super cute concept. The berry is nice, I get Hoppip vibes from it. Hopefully it's more useful than the Hoppip family. The bug is lame, but that's the point. Bug/Water is an interesting typing, so I hope it keeps it unlike Surskit to Masquerain. The horse is boring, but it has a cool ability and will probably be popular. |

Poor thing is named Wimpod. The name plus the Bug-typing has it set up for failure from the get-go.  It'll either pull a Magikarp and blossom into this fierce Water/Bug king, or end up useless and single-stage like Dunsparce and be a Dex filler. There's no in between.

I hope wimpod does turn into a beast. It should also keep its typing given it appears based off of an ammonyte (?) I'm ready for bugs to serve a gen 5 tea, when they had kings Volcarona, Galvantula, Scolipede etc etc. What did we have, just Vivillon last gen?
Which reminds me, we should have a sea scorpion pokemon, that would be perfect for a fossil.

Update
Just beat Bugsy. Unfortunately, the snag cheat only allows u to catch one mon and then the battle ends, so I'm catching their ace. I also decided to ditch Chikorita and the gift starters I got in favor of Togepi. I think it'll be my "starter" as it seems very angelic despite belonging to an evil trainer.
After beating Bugsy, my team is now Togepi, Pidgeotto and Scyther. Highkey perched for snagging Morty's Gengar

Yes, Vivillon was the only Gen 6 Bug. 
I'm definitely using Wimpod on a future run since I'm pretty sure his evolution will not disappoint.

Now that Go has its own thread, try and keep the focus of this thread more on Pokémon in general (and the upcoming games). You can still talk about Go here, just keep it out of the thread title to avoid confusion.

It's just weird to have two threads with a divided discussion. And I don't understand the logic, since this same situation happens in other threads. People might come in here expecting Sun and Moon news but we're talking about Go at that given moment. So then we should have a separate thread by that logic. Are they not able to search or ask?
The regulars that have been here for years get to miss out on updates on the thread title because people are unable to use the same thread? When this is the Pokemon thread and we should be allowed to do that.
