It IS different. We had a military dictatorship here and it was the darkest period of our history, and it wasn't even as bad as in countries like Chile and Indonesia. No matter how bad the president is, military dictatorship is literally the worst thing that can happen.
the jets or f16s or idk what they called literally flyin through between buildings. not even above them. they are circling and keep flying. scary as fck.
military dictatorship mainly leads to several people wanting power for the wrong reasoning. I hate Erdogan with a passion, but I am not sure if this is the right way to go.
It's Turkish tradition that the military steps in when they feel that the freedom, secularism,.... are at risk. If the government is actively replacing the secularist officers with religious ones for years, the military has to act now. Because they have done it so many times, you can almost trust on it that it will be all right like the last many times.

!!
They need to get rid of that wannabe sultan before it's too late.
some says this is all staged that the officials will save the day as planned and convince the people for the presidential system as a result. wouldn't be suprised if this checks out tbh.
If they're trying to overthrow the existing the government what's the chances civilians will get caught up in it though? I'm guessing the attempted coup was in the best interest of the people of Turkey?
