I do understand why people don't stand up for Muslim people. It seems weird for a black person or a white person to involve themselves in an issue like that in a large way. That's why Beyoncé and Kendrick are spokespeople for their own race, but the media doesn't allow any Muslim or Arabic-descended people become famous... or even Asian people in a very big way, as well. There are so many groups that are horribly misrepresented and underrepresented and black/white people aren't at the top of that list.

They TRIED passing the poor sis M.I.A. as an "ignorant" & "racist" when she has literally spent her entire flop career trying to raise awareness about the issues of her people & culture
They are literally doing the exact same thing white people are doing to them

M.I.A. only cares about herself and making headlines. We ALL know this deep down.

I'm not saying that's wrong but I'm saying that she didn't lie.
I think you guys are letting yourselves influence by that sensationalist headline
And all these problems are rooted in the same thing, racial/cultural differences, if you truly want to end them, you need to end them all with one strategy, not "first lets include this group into the circle & then lets leave others to solve their issues".
I have never seen a single big black artist talk about the same type of racial issues Muslims suffer for example. They are demanding white people to recognize & support them & they should do the same with Muslim people demanding & asking for their support too (instead of ignorantly attacking them, like you guys are obviously doing with MIA right now). I know it's a sensitive topic for some of y'all that are living it, but yeah, you guys are not the only ones dealing with issues & everybody deserves the right to say their piece regarding their issues.
It's a two way walk, not just a one way.

But like, why should they when they have their own issues to deal with? MIA ignorantly attacked black artists by literally saying
"It’s interesting that in America the problem you’re allowed to talk about is Black Lives Matter. It’s not a new thing to me -- it’s what Lauryn Hill was saying in the 1990s, or Public Enemy in the 1980s"
Like that is framing BLM as if it is some kind of boring, safe, irrelevant trend. When it's not - police brutality is still a thing, as is ignorant #AllLivesMatter ********. It would be great for black artists/muslim artists to help one another, yes, but you cant tell them to or expect them to when they have their own extremely emotional issues to deal with.

"I'm here for every color, including black lives matter."
An MIA lyric from last month.
I think the biggest thing here is that the woman is super jaded about America in general.

Im the last person to stand up for Beyst..but her or Kendrick talking about the issues of muslims or asian people would make no sense. Kendrick grow up in Compton, he knows (better than Bey) the reality of his community etc

No one from Europe should be talking about the U.S. ****ing people over when y'all got to power SPECIFICALLY by robbing and murdering everyone walking on any inhabitable square foot of the planet for centuries.

I don't think she's racist or anti black, but that particular interview was extremely stupid. And until she admits her ignorance it will be hard to defend her.

Right? They are selfish and think they are the only minority that is facing discrimination. Like when Chris Rock was ranting at Oscars about industry not respecting black people and then he brought those Asian kids to the stage and made that tone deaf racist joke and he didn't even acknowledge any other minority

That entire last paragraph is literally you giving your own interpretation to what she said
I literally read the exact same thing you read & I understand where she's coming from, like I said before, it might not be the best time or the right context to say it but she didn't lie.
And that whole way of thinking like "I don't care because it's not affecting me or I have my own issues that are actually affecting me" is the exact same way of thinking of the white racists, so yeah, not cute on your part to overlook other people issues like that. She never came directly for them, she was just mentioning the FACT that the entire Black Lives Matters subject has been talked about in music for a long time in America (which is good) but Middle East issues have never been really touched, she never said that it was wrong or anything, she just literally stated the fact that it wasn't something new (which it isn't).
Like, do we really need to digest everything for you guys?

Critically acclaimed comedies are almost never funny. How in Christ's name did Trainwreck receive an 85% on that site? I laughed maybe twice throughout the entirety of that seemingly endless piece of ****.
It's gonna bomb anyway and set back the equal rights movement several decades

All that ever needed to be said about this
And even if anyone takes offense to her wording her intention was clearly a positive one so why spew hate in the first place?
I mean she made it even more obvious on Poc that with the lyrics "I'm here for every color including #BlackLivesMatter"
It's not about excluding black people but including more people.

this is the problem with MIA and asian americans et al. you expect BLACK FOLK to do YOUR liberating work for you.
No. You can organise yourselves. You can organise rallys, protests, meetings etc. Stop expecting Black folks to do the work for you. This aint 1806 bih. We aint back on the plantation!!!

That's what's ironic
Many immigrants that are minorities as well as minorities in general dislike African Americans because they minimize their issues and believe they had it the worst
In addition, they are highly racist and stereotypical to other ethnicities as well
They have the same vices

Asian Americans in the U.S.A. are the most successful ethnic group across all of the ethnicities that exist (same in most of Western Europe)
What liberation?
