after ANTi tour, Rih will surpass her there too. You can't use albums sales because of sales climate, and you can't argue about singles climate since Brit only had 1 huge hit during her prime and that's BOMT.

It's impressing to see how she surpassed her peers (Lady GaGa etc) but she's not in the same league with Beyonce, Britney yet. She's getting there though. I'm rooting for her!

And the same doesn't apply to touring and singles? It's not so easy to draw conclusions here, from these two non-fads

I don't think so, even with more stats. She's a legend in her own right, but no one talks about her like they did with Britney

Rihanna debuted in 2005, it's not like debuted in this decade or ages apart from her and even with the same number of albums Britney had more than doubled her album sales, also the fact that you think that Britney only had 1 huge hit during her prime

You should've read the other part, Brit's tours and singles weren't successful during her prime.
So either way it won't affect her current stats that much.

I listed multiple things in my original post, where are your clapbacks for those?
Thanks for also reminding me that Unapologetic outsold all of Britney's releases this year combined. Another day, another slay.

Album sales are a not everything in the grand scheme of things. 15 persons buying a song =/= one person buying an album.
You're just supporting the "21/BOMT > Beyonce/Gaga/Katy's existence" theory. It really doesn't make sense.

In a world where individual hits are now pulling in over 1B views with ease, there's no longer some huge advantage that large album sales have over streaming/single sales.
On top of that, catalog streams are bigger than catalog album sales, especially for non-rock artists. Not to mention Rihanna debuted in 2005, so it's not like her whole career has happened after the death of album sales.
The reality is:
Britney Spears:
84,000,000 album sales
100,000,000 single sales = 10,000,000 album equivalents
4,500,000,000 streams = 3,000,000 album equivalents
97,000,000 album equivalents
Rihanna:
32,000,000 album sales
180,000,000 single sales = 18,000,000 album equivalents
15,000,000,000 streams = 10,000,000 album equivalents
60,000,000 album equivalents
I added 20M single sales to Rih from her receipts thread estimate because theirs looked a little low.

This. It's more like nostalgia with her now. All the numbers won't matter if anyone barely cares about you now.

Yes Rihanna is so much bigger, and has stayed relevant. Let's see if Make Me will turn the Britney Jean page.

Except they were booboo. In 1999-2004, no one but legends like Madge outgrossed her, and no girl from her generation outgrossed her period.
Justified & Stripped for example did $30 million, and Beyonce & Alicia Keys First Ladies did about $22 million. Onyx Hotel, her least biggest tour from her prime, did $34 million. It sounds like this non-fad kinda slayed her tours huh?
Britney had very strong single sales too. Her flop From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart outsold some of her peers' legit hits :after all. That's not something to really scoff at

With Rihanna's average tour gross, she's estimated to only end at $450,000,000 touring total, which Britney will surpass once Billboard puts out its next update.
The touring climate peaked under Rihanna's reign yet Britney still surpassed Rihanna. No excuses. We have no problem comparing Rihanna's single sales and streams, so why do we have to downgrade album sales to benefit Rih?
And isn't Britney #3 all-time for females for most #1s in Europe? Try again, Bounce.

Your argument was "Rihanna moved more $1.29 singles and free streams!"
My argument was that "Britney moved more $9.99+ albums and had higher musical consumption."
And Britney's released nothing this year. Are you really arguing that Rihanna is more successful because Britney hasn't released this year?

The whole idea of ignoring the massive musical exposure and impact of singles and music videos and "equalizing" them to album sales is false.
Rihanna is a bigger pop star worldwide than Britney, you can feel it everywhere you go, it doesn't need any numbers to prove it. Period point blank.

i dont think so, but she'll get there eventually since shes still young and active.
she has EVERY popstar who debuted in the 2000s beat though; so there's that.
