After getting some buzz on Twitter, Tuckers Tavern manager Pete Palladino confirmed today that pop star Christina Aguilera was a guest at a Fourth of July wedding at his establishment in Beach Haven on Monday night.
The family had been planning the wedding with Tuckers for more than a year. Two days before the event, Palladino said, they told him there would be a special guest in attendance. Aguilera is related to the groom, and was there to celebrate the wedding privately with her family.
Still, Palladino said, “word spreads quickly on the Island,” and at one point there was a small group of excited teenage fans standing outside the venue. Nonetheless, Aguilera and her family were able to enjoy a peaceful evening at Tuckers.
“What I love about LBI is how low key everything is,” Palladino said. He didn’t need to hire extra security or destroy everybody’s phone. The understanding at the wedding was that Aguilera was just another guest who was there to celebrate with her family and have a good time.
Still, a star is a star. And if the fireworks seemed to burn a little bit brighter over LBI on Monday night, it may be because there was a star among us.
