Elections have consequences. Not to mention, most people vote selfishly anyways.
You can call it democracy but uninformed, ignorant people shouldn't be allowed to get behind a booth and destroy people's futures, etc. Look at what 8 years of Bush did to the US. We still haven't really recovered.
So you want to silence those you deem intellectually inferior to yourself? That goes against the whole concept of democracy. Those people you look down upon are just as representative of this nation as you are.

It depends. Most countries will be to scared of a major war b/c of the economies. But a crazy religious country like Iran could spark it, since they won't care about that.
