Let me see if i can explain it.
Guys believe this myth because once they start shaving, they realise their hair grows back faster. But the actual reason is because guys start shaving during puberty, and during puberty their
hormones (
testosterone) are
peaking and thats the actual reason why their hair is growing faster. Shaving or not, the hair will grow at the same speed due to hormones.
Girls believe this myth because after they shave their "peach fuzz" they think it grows back coarser/thicker. This is because when it grows back it starts growing back
blunt, so it "feels" thicker, but actually isn't. Eventually when it grows back it'll be the exact same right before you shave it.
Logically, if shaving promoted hair growth, then all girls who shave their legs once a week would be gorillas by now.
However if you suffer from Acne i'd advise to stay away from shaving as it can cause irritation.
Shaving/Waxing the face causes all the dead skin cells to be removed AND hair.
What this does is it not only helps your makeup look smoother, but helps your moisturisers/cosmetics to penetrate deeper in the skin and benefit you more.
BUT if you don't want to do it, you don't have to. Waxing can help remove dead skin cells and hair (and since waxing literally removes the entire hair follicle it takes ages to grow back).
If you don't want to touch your hair then just exfoliate with a scrub

at least you get rid off the dead skin cells that may be clogging pores.
