Kasich has refused to support Trump and pretty much said he wouldn't vote for him. He didn't endorse Hillary but this is all so damaging to Trump

Kasich is a good man at heart and truly wants what's best for his constituents, even if he and I disagree on what those things are.

I'm just thankful that Kasich isn't the nominee. He was easily the most level headed candidate the Republicans have running this year.

I could actually see Kasich endorsing Hillary eventually. And Kasich not endorsing Trump is going to make it near impossible for Trump to win Ohio. Ohio really came out to make sure Trump didn't win their state and their governor is blatantly anti-Trump. I don't see him turning that state Red.

Kasich is extremely popular in Ohio. There's no way Trump will win Ohio without Kasich's support and if Trump can't win Ohio he has almost no chance of being elected

So, how does that actually work? With a candidate needing 15% to be in the debates? Is there a number of polls for them to eligible? Surely some measurement is made to account for outliers. I'm just trying to make sure I understand fully the policy behind this. If Johnson could get into a general election debate.... That would change a lot...

This is what I could find for the official rules

Under the 2016 Criteria, in addition to being Constitutionally eligible, candidates must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning a majority vote in the Electoral College, and have a level of support of at least 15 percent of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations’ most recently publicly-reported results at the time of the determination. The polls to be relied upon will be selected based on the quality of the methodology employed, the reputation of the polling organizations and the frequency of the polling conducted. CPD (Commission on Presidential Debates) will identify the selected polling organizations well in advance of the time the criteria are applied.

I wasn't aware of the first criteria. Seems like he'll have to have state like his home of New Mexico rank him above Trump and Clinton as well as being 15% to make it to the debates.

I read up on Gary Johnson and he doesn't seem all that bad? He wants to get out of the middle east, not crazy anti-immigration, pro-choice, wants to lower taxes, is pro-environment (but not rlly open to regulating corporations or for pushing green technology) If he gets onto the national stage it could really be a game changer.
