It's honestly not though; it's a completely valid argument. Look at all of the 'huge' new artists from this decade - why are they debuting so low? If Ariana, Meghan, etc debuted in the 90s then they would've sold 200k+ at least. Streaming will just become more and more of an indicator in measuring pop-success.
