Please watch MJ's home videos. He was not as scary or mentally "hurt" as you think. He had quite fun at Neverland.
Those videos with the kid from Home Alone moviie having fun makes me smile everytime. Janet was there sometimes too.
He had problems but he dealt with it. Neverland was his saving grace
