Yeah, I'm a bit confused too.
I know that we're supposed to use imagery related to our topic, but I'm a bit lost on how much imagery you're looking for (does every verse need thematically-related imagery? seems like it'd get very heavyhanded very quickly)? And does it matter what we're using the imagery to describe (ie: using ice imagery in a song about death)?
Would Florence's "Never Let Me Go" be an adequate submission for water?
Would Taylor's "Dear John" work for fire because of its bridge?

Here's a few ways you could go about it using fire as an example
-write a song about fire
-write a song using fire as the central metaphor
-write a song about anger and rage or other emotions associated with fire
-write a song with a flow or structure that alludes to fire (this one's a lot harder tho)
there's probably other options too, but it should be clear to the judges what your "type" is without us having to read it
