The important thing is Ariana is SELLING HER ASS OFF! Her predictions dropped throughout the week, but they have risen right back up! She had no hit, and most naysayers expected her to sell less than 100k but she's doing Yours Truly numbers with a messy rollout, no discount, no hit etc. This shows she won't pull a Meghan and drop 192-78k in one album, she has a strong fanbase who respect the music she puts out!
#2 isn't a big deal. The GP doesn't care, and most of Ariana's sales peers (Selena, Demi, Meghan, Fifth Harmony, etc) don't have all #1 albums and aren't pulling these types of numbers first week in 2016 and onwards. I'm proud of her going from Victoria Justice's sprayed-orange understudy to a bonafide pop superstar who can't lose and is receiving acclaim from all over with her own sound, and not copy and pasting someone else's.

when you put it like that... yeah. i mean, i dont even care about sales or chart peaks (never did and will never) but it's just different for Ariana y'know? like you said, she's basically beaten all the odds against her and i just want her to always be #1 and succeed at everything.
but this album is without a doubt her best and she's already accomplished way more than Victoria, Miranda, etc ever have and im, i'll be fine with a #1 peak. what truly matters in all of this is longevity tho so i hope she keeps on selling decently throughout the weeks and year.

I don't usually do this but this album is too damn good to not go #1 tbh..currently streaming it on repeat even though I bought it already. I know what it's like to not know if your fave's album will go #1 (see the Purpose vs. Made in the AM fiasco) and it's a ****** feeling. I love Ari and this whole album, she deserves to get this!!!

This wouldn't be anywhere near as bad if they used average streams instead of total streams for albums. Streams should be accounted for, but when Album A is tripling Album B's sales but Album B is #1 is just
