The virus is rendered inert within seconds when exposed to air so there wouldn't be much of a risk unless the positive individual was bleeding directly into a negative person's open wound.

Yes, undetectable means that the virus is undetectable in the blood, making it less likely for an undetectable person to transmit.

As stated before, if an HIV+ person cuts himself in public, he can receive help without any risk to infect anybody else. Unless that other person has an open wound and the blood from the HIV+ makes immediate contact, that would be risky. Once again, the virus doesn't last that much when it makes contact with the air, so.

Highly unlikely to pass It on. I could technically have bareback sex and the chances of passing It on are minimal but yeah, It's not an option obviously.

About bleeding in public:

I once cut myself with a bottle in the kitchen of a friend. We had a party and I told them 2 weeks before about me being positive and how to react IF I ever bleed etc.

I just asked for her to come and clean the cut and put a tape on It. It wasn't a big deal but she knew what was up and put gloves on before. That was YEARS ago and kinda over the top since she didn't have open wounds but safety first you know.

I told them only because I felt like I would spend more time with them in the near future (they were kinda new friends at that time)

If something happens in public spaces you HAVE to be vocal about It. It would be horrible to give It to someone else who for example just wants to help you after an accident or something. The thought alone...

And I was a virgin when that happened so I didn't know how it feels to be penetrated, or not penetrated, but I truly believe I didn't came in, or thats what I want to believe i guess.


I asked the guy and he did a test and it was negative, he sent me a pic but I can't still trust on it I kept asking him and he got mad a blocked me, I've known him for like 2 years...

It's just a word at first. HIV. You're still healthy, the virus isn't jumping naked in front of you, It's nothing you can really imagine at first.

I realized It probably when I had to go to the doctor for treatment plans and ****. That's when reality hit me. Hard.

Took me a year to really get over It. I wasn't depressed. I was always a happy person, nothing can really bother me. But deep inside I was scared as ****.

I told my close friends after a year. My next boyfriend after 3 weeks of dating and my mom 4 years later.

Now everyone around me knows about me and It's no problem. I have many positive friends and we joke more about It.

But I never make fun of when someone is asking me about It because It has to scare people for them to stay safe. That's important. HIV is not your friend and PrEP is not the tea for people who just want to bareback away.

As you can see I was kinda chill after the dust settled but I saw a thousand other ways of people coping with It. One ended up jumping off a bridge, another one didn't believe in meds and died in front of me, a lot freak the **** out and become bareback-darkroom thots far from reality, not giving a **** about anything must mostly people see It as a reason to change for good. Sports, healthy food, taking care of your well-being in general. Glad I'm one of them.

I totally understand. Being told that you are suffering from such illness is truly soul aching for the patients, It's very common nowadays to prescribe SSRIs, benzodiazepines and other anti-depressants and anxiolytics to patients beginning chemotherapy for cancer. So I guess HIV is no different with some patients.
But I really applaud you for what you're doing

Those are just a few questions that controlled my daily life for like a year after I got It.

It is pure hell in the beginning.

What It could do to your body, physically, is mostly a topic later in the process.

oh my god I almost started crying reading this post. At the beginning of this year I thought I was HIV positive and I had to wait at least 2 more months because of the window period before getting tested and it was filled with so much anxiety. I checked my body temperature when I was at home every 15 minutes or so because I thought I have fever. I can't imagine dealing with it knowing that you have it and not just overthinking it.

To my knowledge there's never been a documented case of someone passing HIV through salivary contact.
