Taeyeon outsold Last Fantasy tho, in the physical sales departament. But Last Fantasy was huge in digital sales, and probably won't be surpassed for a long long time.
Against Taeyeon and Jessica, no she doesn't ever win. She's always been less talented and less popular. But she's still had great physical sales and arguably has the best overall mini in terms of quality so who cares.
edit: Also she'd do better than Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung and Sunny and probably Seohyun too if they released solos so there's that too.
But her unique listener # on melon is actually very low.. Tiffany had the same pattern for first day. Peaked at #2 during peak hours but the actual # of listeners wasn't that high. I think she'll fair better than Tiffany, but I don't think she'll have much longevity either.

The album could be more upbeat and diverse, but her not taking much risk now is understandable in the context.
