I honestly disagree. I used to think this way.
One person can't swing an election. You can't point to one person and say "this is your fault". Yea, if all Ralph Nader supporters voted for Gore, then he would be president. If all Bernie supporters vote for Clinton, then she will be president (although she might still be president without all his supporters). However, whether or not I vote doesn't effect whether or not millions of others vote.
Yea, voter turnout is bad and we should make every effort to raise it, but shaming individuals is not how we raise. That's like shamming a poor person for being poor. It's ingoring the larger social problems. There is no proof that shamming works.
