Prince already did that in less than a day, so his numbers for the full week should be high.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried Prince would block her, but thinking about it logically it doesn't seem likely.

His sales are split between albums, if anything it could help Bey since people will be flocking to iTunes & the store to get Prince's albums and might see Bey's.

Though to be honest, Prince is one of the few people who I wouldn't mind that much if they blocked Bey. He was a legend and his impact on the music industry was phenomenal. Very few people were as legendary as him and we all know Bey's a big fan (The Darling Nikki cover with altered lyrics was only a few months ago).

i really wanted Beyonce to do "Purple Rain" as the tour tribute b/c that would be a perfect fit with Halo. but then it seems that everyone is choosing "Purple Rain" as their tribute song. she may realize that too... so now i feel that she might pick a less covered song like she did for MJ when she did "I Can't Help It" when he first died. but then again...Beyonce also did IWALY which is as cliche as it gets...so who knows.

my #1 pick is really "Adore" though....my fave Prince song & Bey said hers too.

y'all really don't seem to be thinking clearly. you really think he'll be selling like this by this time next week? he will sell today, and over the weekend but by Monday sales will slow down immensely. also bey is doing 500k+ AT LEAST in the US, so there's is literally 0% chance of him blocking.

we shouldn't really be worrying about that. it's not gonna happen, and even if it did, atleast its for a good reason

I wonder if Prince will actually block Beyoncé. His overall sales will be very strong for the next few weeks but it's not impossible to beat those sales with one completely new album accompanied by a film and so much more.

Anyway, if she doesn't go #1 the first week she'll go #1 the second week.
