The biggest problem with Warren is that Massachusetts has a Republican governor, which will then appoint a Republican senator to replace Warren. A reverse Ted Kennedy mess. We might not be able to afford a senate seat loss, honestly we should never accept a seat held by Warren to swing so far to the right.

Come the General, Hillary may just be looking for a solid VP, not an exciting one. Against Trump or Cruz, someone like Tim Kaine (making the ticket more palatable to white men; Hillary's biggest deficiency) or going after more of the Latino vote (Perez, hence solidifying the Obama coalition) would be smart picks.
Picking Sanders would allow the GOP to attack her credibility; do not dismiss the "unqualified" comments. They will be a feature in the GE and continuously run on attack ads.
The thing about Warren is the fact that Massachusetts has a law stating an election must occur within ~100 days of her leaving her post, and the state has always been rather blue. Of the progressive senators Clinton could pick (Warren, Brown or Sanders), she'd be the best. Whether she'd accept is another question entirely.
