People are affraid to bring the muslim issue because of the stigma that is wrongly associated with them by huge ammount of people, while they mostly understand the black issues and racism. Go to every thread here touching the Middle East and you will see how twisted the perception of Islam and muslims is.

How complicated is it to tackle the issue of being black in the west? On top of that Beyoncé also touches on feminism and sometimes the LGBT rights. She's already taking on a whole lot. Like I said usually priviledged blacks like Beyonce are often scared of speaking up against racial injustice for fear of stigmatisation by whites who control the industry , so MIA's argument is flawed because Beyonce(being one of the few black women to make it in the pop world)speaking up against racial inequality is by no means playing it safe like MIA suggests

She is not downplaying anything, she just says that while one issue gets a lot of exposure and support and not just from own people (its not like it isnt justified, most of us understand the importance of BLM), other is avoided and misunderstood.
