Work does not feel particularly big to me either at least here. Like it was a hit but nowhere near most of her other lead singles. I genuinely assumed it had dropped from #1 in the US after a few weeks not going to lie
Moves Like Jagger and like... Payphone?
These are the only songs that can contest Work.
One More Night had a lucky streak. It's forgotten now & there's nothing remarkable about it.
What the hell has being white, you are white obviously, you stan Ke$ha and digital sales not longer being relevant to do with Work being bigger than any M5 song?
Sugar
One More Night
Moves Like Jagger
Payphone
She Will Be Loved
Are all bigger than Work, especially on a WW scale. In fact, MLJ is bigger than ANY Rihanna song not just Work
Ya'll really have to stop being so dismissive of other metrics of success in order to inflate Rihanna's success.
Rihanna is a streaming force, streaming counts for the charts, so she's smashing the charts as a result. Good for her.
But let's not pretend other avenues of music consumption like single sales and album sales are completely useless when the biggest artists like Taylor, Coldplay, Beyonce, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Bruno, Katy, etc. are capable of accomplishing them. Especially when artists like Taylor, Adele, and Beyonce limit their streaming.
