Sanders comments regarding the south are accurate though. Bernie is the most liberal candidate in modern history. He even admits to being a socialist. He was obviously not going to do well in the south where voters are notoriously more conservative.
While that's true, it's not an argument to winning the nomination. Obama won the conservative states and Hillary won the more liberal states in 2008.

A higher minimum wage puts more money into the average American's pocket, which in returns means more spending, which then means a healthier economy. The average American household would see greater household spending. If anything small businesses benefit from Americans having more money to spend. The main reason why small businesses struggle right now is not only because of larger corporations hurting competition but because most Americans don't have extra money to spend. Americans spending more money is what helps create jobs as well.
There's also an argument that a higher minimum wage can reduce training costs as well.
You're basically talking like a lobbyist. There is little proof that raising the minimum wage hurts small businesses. Next you're going to tell me a gallon of milk will cost $12 or something.
This is a highly oversimplified account of what would happen were the minimum wage to be $15.

Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming are all conservative too (even more so than the South). He lost it because of his poor showing with blacks (yet he won conservative states with high white populations)
