Let's not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? Yes, the first season was GREAT. But it was nowhere NEAR as good as the first season of The Walking Dead. When TWD is good, it's GOOOOOOD.
Yeah, the last few seasons, especially the 6th one, was an absolute disaster. But TWD was one of the best shows on TV for quite some time.
But I have faith that FTWD will match the quality and might even surpass is at one point.

I hope this season emphasizes more on the younger cast. They are much more interesting. I hated the mother and father in the first season.
Charlie(from Flight 462)'s 20 minute appearance on the mini series gave more personality than both of them combined. I hope she sticks around, because she's got a lot of potential as a character.

The Walking Dead had the same in it's first season. They set up a story well in FTWD, so i'm hyped for this full second season. After THAT finale of The Walking Dead, i'm stanning for FTWD and FTWD alone.
They have a completely separate team, and i have FAITH that they wont pull off the same kind of stunt as they did in that finale (although FTWD has no background i.e. comics to go by). The Walking Dead, because of the comics, is becoming completely and boringly predictable which FTWD does not have.
So, because of that, I'm way more excited and feel like that FTWD will become the better show. The Walking Dead is iconic, of course, but that doesn't mean that it's good anymore.
