I believe they're trying to get it out tonight on Amazon/iTunes/Spotify, but don't quote me on that.

I'm disappointed tbh. But it's still above average.
BWET and Fantaseas are 9s, but this is just doing a 7. It is definitely listenable though. It's a bit too generic, hip-hop I'm-the-best stuff. But I like the dance elements. I'm excited for more songs like "Along the Coast". I want a beachy, relaxed sequel to Fantasea.

Riot is so fresh, and is the perfect introduction to a mixtape that sees Azealia transcend the slight hipster following she has amassed and harken unashamedly into the dance music that she so obviously adores. This time though, it's different. None of the beat on top of beat on top of beat madness that the 1991 EP dabbled in so often. This has room to breathe. And all the better for it. Nina Sky gives a fantastic contribution (I also must get into their music) and the all around atmosphere of the track is perfect. An Idle Delilah for the clubs if you will.
Skylar Diggins delves into the slight cheap EDM meets trap-hip-hop-house that the mixtape revels in, with a beat that sounds halfway between a Sonic the Hedgehog backing track and a cheap instrumental being sold on Twitter, but with Azealia really reigning in her rapping from the repetitive vagina talk of Broke With Expensive Taste (I loved every single line of it, but to each their own) she shines and makes the entire track work. The EA line is genius, and the second verse as a whole is absolutely breathtaking. BBD done right.
Big Talk feels (don't come for me) very Nicki - not a criticism at all however, I love Nicki just slightly less than Azealia. It feels... safe? It's something we've not really heard from her before though, so I'm welcome to hearing multiple sides to her of course. Rick Ross has better verses too. I'd say it's probably the weakest on the mixtape, and I'm not even a straight out rap hater like many here. *shrugs* I do love AB's verse though and I welcome the versatility of her voices here as well as the 'Bad bitch, I'm bodacious, black power but I'm no racist' line which made me smirk.
Can't Do It Like Me is a little more of the same after Big Talk, though not as strong in terms of verses. I can see why Rihanna rejected it, I don't think it's the right fit for ANTi but it fits perfectly on here. I must say a detail I appreciated here was the 'no way', 'okay', adlibs in the chorus after she delivers her lines. It's just a touch I feel like isn't something that is often present in her music, and I weirdly appreciated it. I also loved the Champagne Papi shoutout. Get that Drake cosign, Zee.
The Big Big Beat - glorious. The high quality version is just absolutely gorgeous, I still adore it, even more so than I did on release. I think it took some adjusting after getting pretty used to Azealia being the type of girl to throw a bachata bridge and horns on a song about growing up in New York, but it really demonstrated that she's learning to give her music space as she matures as an artist. That chorus still gives me tingles, because all I can picture is her sipping some tea from a thousand dollar tea cup as she sits wearing Mugler and staring at her phone waiting for her guy to call her declaring his love. 'Black feminist rebel' should also get more attention. For all the time she shouts about what she is and isn't, those are three words that you can't deny associate with Azealia, and nor can she. I feel like I've written nonsense about this but it's a 9/10.
The changes made to Used To Being Alone have made it go from an 8 to a 9.5 for me. If she adds a great verse like she said she wants to on Twitter, it'll easily be her best song for me. It's so tragically relatable to the cacophony of feelings you get when you've spent months getting over someone, sometimes years, for them to come crawling back. The new production touches have taken the song to new heights and her vocal stands out a lot more too. At this stage, the mixtape is really rollicking along after a slight dip in the middle.
The highlight without a doubt, along with Used To Being Alone, is Queen of Clubs. It's a 4 minute rollercoaster of homo glory with a splash of unexpected production, 2011 tackiness and 90s groove. God, there's even some sounds that I feel should be on a sunny alt-rock record with the weird, twangy bassline in the second go-around of the verse. I really feel that as the song ends, I've been literally physically assaulted at the back of a dingy club in Brighton by a pair of loan sharks, and then I want to go back in for another shot of LIDL vodka that will probably blind me. I'm genuinely shocked. I'm not even sure if it's a 1 or a 10 to be quite honest.
Along The Coast was really unexpected for me. I was expecting a lot of glossy synths with atmospheric sounds ala Count Contessa, which I guess is almost what I got. But it's lowkey, there's no... 'rapping' as such, as much as there is melodic talking. I almost feel like this should belong just after Island Life on Janet Jackson's Damita Jo (she literally refers to her genitalia as 'my ooh, so she's lying if this isn't even an indirect Janet homage). It is a great record though, I love the innuendo 'row your boat,' which is one of the best euphemisms for masturbation that I've ever heard. This is obviously out of place for the mixtape (although after the previous ****ery and mish-mash, it may as well just belong here) but I'm excited to see where it belongs in relation to the rest of Fantasea: The Second Wave.
tl;dr: Does this touch Broke With Expensive Taste or Fantasea? No. But does it deliver a good three quarters of fun tracks and a fantastic peak into where Azealia is headed next? Hell yes.

I posted it on PopJustice and then just copied and pasted so. But it makes up for my lack of Azealia representing basically since BWET dropped.

The standouts for me are Can't Do It Like Me & Along The Coast. Queen of Clubs is cute.
