The '4' leak really changed her, so did Blue. She's never going to be the promo, singles driven queen she once was, she's basically spoke out against both topics.
She released one song for free as a buzz single, she put BD/IBO on Soundcloud, what's the difference?

I wasn't here for that but we seem to all know the album is coming soon, soon enough that Formation is part of that era so basically we got a lead single without a proper release then were left hanging regarding its parent album. She doesn't have to hype the album, simply putting it up for pre-order would be a nice gesture.

She can be a legend and carve her own path that doesn't involve being detached from the world like she's the damn avatar

the most Tidal should get are the BTS videos like she did for ST on YouTube.

The fact she doesn't have to say " what would artist X do" but " what would I do next?" .

Listening to The Last Shadow Puppets reminded me of how amazing Bey's voice would be over a guitar/bass instrumental like My Mistakes Were Made For You for a Bond theme
She really needs to be a Bond girl. Maybe if they ever decide to pick Idris for the role here for a reunion

So what do we know about the album? That's it soulful + great vocals + very political?
Is Bey coming from Aretha's and Bob Dylan's wigs?

I hate the "Beyoncé stopped making music for the charts" response. CIL, IRR are good songs and they were not pandering. They created two trends that last for their respective décades and beyond. There is nothing pandering about B'day and DIL. Beyonce's music didn't become good with 4 either.

Expensive tickets, exclusive albums, videos and endorsements, the list goes on.
But this image of being exclusive, of being someone who is worth the money is only profitable if you're still accessible for the general public.
For example the release of "BEYONCÉ" was perfect. It was exclusively available on iTunes, but since so many people use iTunes, it was still able to break sales records.
But her recent actions, blacklisting the "Formation" video and not releasing the song to iTunes, Amazon etc., made her too exclusive in my opinion. The GP wants to consume Beyoncé music, but with every day she's making it harder for them to even find her official songs/videos.
So I desperately hope that she doesn't release the album to Tidal only for the first few weeks, she'd waste a huge potential!
This album, especially if it has a political message, needs to be heard by millions. Releasing it to Tidal is not the way to achieve this.
I hope y'all can understand what I wrote here, because it's even confusing for me.

I completely understood what you meant. But I think Formation's sole purposes were to denounce a social matter and to promote Tidal.
I do also fear that she'll just dump her music on that flop service because it's her husband's.

Beyoncé is a legend at this point. She is. There's absolutely no denying it. Her cultural impact is beyond our comprehension at this time, but we'll look back at her career in the years to come and come to recognise the extent of her music and art on the lives of millions. That's the positive.
Looking back, it's clear that she was bored. So she consciously made a concerted effort to become more of an artist. You know, actually make art. That's what excites her now. She's not making music for the charts, not producing music just to be popular, and certainly not making music for the fame to the extent that she used to. Making art that has cultural impact is where she derives her long-aspired gratification. We have to commend her for that. She's become an artist - in the real sense of the word, before our very eyes.
Nevertheless, I do feel that she's taken us, her loyal fans, for granted. Hypothetically, let's just say that her tours starting doing poorly, and no one was paying attention to her nor her music anymore, would she then revert back to commercial music? Probably. Or maybe, she has a level of equanimity that I fail to see. For the past so many years, she's been in the precarious mindset of complacency. Not putting her new song on iTunes pissed me the **** off. And then she hides the video on YouTube? I just don't get it. Not even indi artists do that. She's taken this way too far. I get it, it was for a social cause and she didn't want to make profit off of it. Fine, then release the damn song on iTunes for FREE, and make the video available so as many people as possible can see your message. Look, my opinion is not incontrovertible and you can think otherwise, but the last few months have been so bizarre for the BeyHive.
Don't get me wrong, I'll forever support her in whatever venture she pursues, but it's just not as provocatively thrilling to be a fan as it used to be. We get next to no promo performances, she doesn't do interviews, and she doesn't go to many award shows, etc. I mean, there's being an artist; but then there's being just plain disrespectful to your fans who have been loyal throughout the years. We have invested in her career. We have paid for her albums, her tour, and her merchandise. It's beginning to feel like we're getting nothing in return.
Hate me all you want, but this is how I feel and I've been feeling it for quite some time now.
Sorry for the rant

We all need to come to terms with the fact that it's going to be a Tidal exclusive. Maybe if this were the beginning of her career, she wouldn't make it a Tidal exclusive. But it's not. She probably thinks it's worth a risk and a good business move at this point. But we all know that this album, if a Tidal exclusive, will be her worst selling to date. I wouldn't mind if we got some interviews and promo performances, but we all know that's not going to happen.
She's going to announce a release date 24 hours in advance, probably on her Instagram, with a link to Tidal. The album might not even be available for weeks or even months on itunes. After the Formation debacle, I haven't a clue what's going through her mind. If this happens, it's not clever nor does it make entrepreneurial sense. She does draw subscribers to Tidal because she's a big name. However, if she doesn't sell albums, she's no longer a big name, and therefore doesn't bring a steady flow of demand to Tidal.
What would make business sense: Release album on Itunes immediately. Have the album to stream on Tidal simultaneously. However, don't put the album on Spotify. Those who stream will go to Tidal, upping Tidal's subscriber numbers. Have 3 extra songs or videos on the Tidal stream in order to offer an incentive to those who stream to go to Tidal. It's pretty simple.
Won't happen though.

She's 34 years old. Even Madonna is more involved with communicating with her fans than this. I'm just saying. Bey is on some Prince type ****.
It has nothing to do with being a "legend", Bey just does whatever the hell she wants now because she has a family that's more important to her. Nothing wrong with it, let's just call a spade a spade.

LMAO!
when has she ever listened to Columbia? She has been rebelling since day 1 when they told her DIL would flop and she wouldn't get hits w/ the songs presented, when she recorded B'Day behind their backs, when she shut them out after the 4 leak and the company finding out about BEYONCE 1 hour before it went live

YES. I have wanted her to do a Bond theme for years. If Idris becomes Bond, I'm going to need to hear her do the theme. It's the perfect combo. Black excellence.

are we still ranting & raving about the "Formation" release??? clearly that song was not meant for commercial release. clearly that song serves the same purpose as "Bow Down" which was only on Soundcloud. Clearly Tidal replaced Soundcloud in this scenario.

All of this I already know. They let DC AND BEY do watever they wanted but in this case this is different. They will LOSE MONEY if she drops it on tidal!!!!!
Shes not Rihanna or Kanye. She is NOT apart of Roc Nation.

But she is a co-founder and somehow, I have a feeling that this new deal she negotiated w/ SONY/Columbia gives her more control. I don't want a TIDAL exclusive either but we have to accept that it could be a big possibility. I'm just hoping that she fulfilled her obligatory TIDAL duties w/ Formation.

How long y'all gonna complain about Tidal? Until the album announcement or album release? It's going to be where it's going to be and we'll have to deal. Prepareth you another email account and credit card for your Tidal trial IF that's where the album ends up and keep it moving.
