Bernie needed to kiss some ass if he wanted to be able to win over some super delegates... Him suing the party, speaking constantly about how corrupt they are, just now registering as a Democrat in November 2015 to be eligible to be on the primary ballot, and only raising barely over a thousand dollars for the party compared to the millions Hillary has raised and it's quick to realize that Bernie is not going to convince many super delegates to switch to his side. Quite frankly, he is not a Democrat and they do not want their party hijacked.
The Republicans are freaking out because their primary system has no safety net like that. The super delegates may have flipped to Obama in 2008, but her lead in super delegates were nothing like they are this year and Obama was a loyal Democrat.

Good point
One thing I want to say though, The Young Turks (Bernie supporters) are always talking about how superdelegates don't matter. That no one should be counting them because they're meant to disenfranchise Bernie fans because it makes it seem like he has no chance. Because they always back the winning candidate and they will switch if need be like what happened in 2008. And if political pundits don't say that when addressing superdelegates they're stupid, ignorant, and biased
They're the uninformed ones though. In 2008 VERY little superdelegates switched to Obama. In fact, most of Obama's superdelegates came from undecided ones who didn't back anyone right away. And yes they do choose the winning candidate but they don't ever switch to the point they want to make it's annoying how uninformed THEY are yet act like everyone else is biased and dumb
