I'm really curious to know if the Republicans are going to somehow screw Donald Trump out of the nomination. If that happens all hell will break loose.

I know most of us think it will be Trump vs Clinton but not if the party has say.

The party is branching off at an accelerated rate with the Tea Party/Freedom Caucus/Establishment all going opposite directions. Trump and Cruz hijacked the party from the GOP and is destroying the credibility their party once had before 2008. Yeah, the angry base is more passionate and happier than ever, but the moderates, the independents, the establishment are furious over what has happened. Trump getting the nom is basically saying goodbye to them.

If this was to happen and they didn't choose Trump he may go the Independent route he has gain to many voting supporters to not just run. The convention seems very unfair because the voters are choosing Trump and it should remain as such what's the point of choosing Kasich when he can't beat Cruz or Trump in the primaries

There is no way there will be a contested convention if the GOP has ANY brains left. They are essentially erasing democracy and disenfranchising all the people who voted in the primaries.

Looks like it'll be Sri Srivanasan. Moderate although some say that his rulings in the Appeals Court have been more liberal than the rulings Ginsberg made when she was in the same seat before SCOTUS, so may bode well.

Regardless, the next president will select 3 justices to replace Breyer, Kennedy and Ginsberg. If its liberal, the court will be tipped 5-4 to liberals (and 2 more moderate votes in Roberts and likely Srivanasan).
