The subject is not forbidden. Yaoi/Boys Love/Gay drama/movies/anime/manga has actually been popular in Asia for a long time. It has a very large market with teenage girls. The issue with China is that the government finds the material harmful because they feel it might make other people turn gay. That's why they recently banned any content from airing in China that shows too much same sex action. However, all that really did was kind of make people crave (this drama in particular) more.

I am a fan of Danmei (gay love story in China), I have friends with the same taste as mine too. So I knew about this pretty early.

The trailer was all over the Internet in January, before that they even spammed tons of behind the scenes videos (The one they rehearsed kissing scene and stuff) so that's why I know their existence.

That was before the series blew up in the rest of East Asia and South East Asia in February.

And no, they don't ban if it comes to books, manhwa and stuff. But if something air in the website controlled by the government, they will be scanned if they're against the law or not.

that is so ignorant, can the Chinese goverment get educated first about LGBT issues?

Most of us still stay in closet as you guys in Europe, America and Australia.

The come out and bully are the mostly the same.

But it's worse in South Korea and Japan, once your secret is out, your company will find a way to fire you or end the contract. The bully in Japan even raped you and you will not say anything about it to any one else

But these things rarely happen in Taiwan though, this country is like a heaven for us to live.
