I don't think Slow Down is bland at all. It's chill, relaxing, and nostalgic in a way. Unlike most entries this year, it doesn't leave me indifferent.
Its probably a song that you have to LOVE from the get go. I exactly feel indifferent about it and it hasn't changed after hearing it about 5 times, I wouldn't miss at all if you'd take it out from a random line of 10.
Exactly BECAUSE it's the typical balkan ballad that has been done countless times and usually does ok.
most countries send random **** to fish for points but we call one of the very few countries that choose something traditional to represent them a bait. how times have changed
We can only praise Macedonia for sending a song that represents their country's music and culture. Not many countries have been doing that in the recent years, and this year I can only think of Romania, the Netherlands and Ukraine sending songs that say something about their country. The rest of the entries might as well be from anywhere else in Europe.

I finally listened to all the songs, and this is definitely a disappointing year. I've always downloaded at least 4-5 songs from Eurovision every year, but so far this year I've only downloaded France's. (And Oscar's from Sweden but he might not win.)
There aren't really any songs I hate, there's just nothing that stands out either. So many of the songs either sound like Nickleback rejects (Cyprus, Hungary, Belarus), or are the traditional uplifting power ballad Eurovision fluff (Iceland, Finland, Germany, Malta, Moldova).
So yeah, I'd rate it as:
1. France (Amir - J'ai Cherche)
2. Sweden (Oscar - Human) *IF he wins Melodifestivalen
3. Latvia (Justs - Heartbeat)
4. Moldova (Lidia - Falling Stars)
5. Iceland (Greta - Hear Them Calling)
Also that Norway song (Icebreaker) is horrible, I don't get why it's rated so highly. The lyrics are nonsense and it sounds like two completely different songs mashed together.
He does imo. He makes country/folkish music which is very popular there. Reminds me of Ilse DeLange which is one of the biggest artists there.
They do for their own niche market. It's inoffensive and easy listening but believe me there is nothing on the radio like them here, they are known for that genre and well that's about it really.

The Ukraine song (1944) is also super overrated.
I find it funny how all the votes are all over the place for the most of us haha. There is no clear winner (anymore )
