Not really. Meghan had multiple hits from her album, but it wasn't necessarily critically acclaimed. Kiss and E•MO•TION were. Plus she's more likely to have a hit take off, the harsh reality is Carly possibly won't have another hit again.

We'll see how good Thank You is, but as of now, no, their careers really aren't similar.

Scooter has stated he has no intention to drop her from School Boy, so it doesn't really matter. Again, E•MO•TION was more critically acclaimed than a lot of other pop albums released in 2015. There's artists on Interscope selling less than Carly, so they're not going to be dropping her if she can keep crafting good albums regardless of smash hits.

What?

Emotion most probably sold a few hundred thousand globally - it was by no means a big hit but it was likely a commercial success or broke even. It also had a song that was a hit in a good ten countries.

More importantly, it was listed as one of the ten best albums of the year by seven notable publications, was listed in a further three unranked lists, was top ten out of pop albums on two more lists, and was listed as one of the top fifty albums of the year on eight more lists. That's kind of phenomenal for a pop album.

There's no precedent or reason whatsoever to assume she'd be dropped for this record.
