One Nation is so funny too. How many threads have you made about Gaga and the 99 cent deal? Or about her "buying" awards and accolades, etc? But when your fave ACTUALLY buys her success you not only look the other way, but question why it wouldn't count as actual sales. Oh, Navy

A massive one. Lowest selling album by a major pop girl.

Right! She is like that classmate who flunks all her courses and people applaud her when she gets a C+. The standard for her is so low. Slaying $1.29 items is all it takes.

It's pretty obvious the reason she isn't being dragged to the pits is because no one expects anything of her

The era as a whole is a flop. Work might be #1 but it's not going sell anywhere near her other #1s (I really don't see this song having much longevity) + the tour is flopping & the album is flopping, she's lost a lot of her star power too.
Like people have said if any other pop girl did ANTI numbers they would be dragged to the pits, but the navy are defending it just because work is #1 but are blind when it's comes to looking at the era as a whole, which is a major flop.

In it's 4th week, didn't it sell like 28k in the US and like 9k in the UK (With streaming). You really think she is selling over 120k more outside of those?

How does Samsung plan on making their 25 mil back?
These $1.29 singles won't cut it

yeah, the album is flopping for a pop girl standards, there's no denying that. But with a month of it being out the only promo she did was 1 performance in UK, what do ya'll expect? Let Gaga surprise drop an album in this sales climate and be quiet about it, we'll see what numbers she'll do (I'm not even mentioning that Rih's pure sales would be better without the Samsung deal giving away 1.4 mil. albums).

the last time she promoted BBHMM was in May 2015 (+age-restricted video in July)? and the songs aren't even on the album. What year are you talking about? She forgot about those songs almost a year ago. And don't start with the AntiDiary cause it was no promo for an album — it actually had nothing to do with it except the link to Tidal in the final room.

Rihanna and Katy Perry never seem to get the backlash their peers would.
Because they've never had extreme HIGHS in their career, they're just consistently there so when the fads like Gaga or Ke$ha hit it BIG then burn out, they're still around.
Theres always been astericks around her career in general tho. Her thing used to be never hitting #1 or having blockbuster debuts with her albums like her peers but she still sold consistently and always went platinumso her stans could avoid being dragged.
Like even with the dismal sales of Anti, I think most people realize how messy the release was and how idiotic her and her team were with the whole Tidal exclusive so yet again, she slides through. Anti would've been better off with a traditional release (or if she was smart she wouldve uust dropped it last year so Adele and Beyonce wouldnt be stealing her hype but alas..)
She just will never have her own moment with an album/era because this was the closest she ever got.

She released them as buzz singles for her album
You think she spent all that time &money on MVs/performances for fun?

Just hit it on the head. Nobody expected ANTI, with it's messy release, to sell amazingly, so there's no need to drag. Mind you, that's completely different from people arguing it's not a flop.

she performed FFS and AO once, BBHMM twice, and mentioned the album once in an interview for NME - not-that-popular UK magazine. Where did you see a year of promo hun? We both know her last "buzz single" was released in April, and she dropped an album almost 9 months later, so yeah, I'm sure there were tons of promo for that album, you're absolutely right.
