I applied to one university a couple of weeks ago. I get my letter on April 4th. One down, another to go.

Speaking of college, I really liked my first semester. Got good grades and I'm doing well now too.
Is it common for teacher's to curve? Cuz in both of my chemistry classes the usual tests averaged 65% for the entire class, so the professors had to curve

I've had a few classes in which the professor curved when the average was unusually low. Never had any curve scores when they turned out too high, though. Thankfully. The third exam in my math class last semester had a much higher average, and our teacher was just like, "Welp. I guess I made that one too easy." and never mentioned it again.

My Bio class latest test average was a 90 But in his syllabus he says that he uses a curve bell for grades, so you could very well have gotten a 90 or higher but have a B when the curve bell is used But we have another test on Monday and I think it'll average way lower since there's a lot of material + memorization so

Yuck. Curved tests in this kind of situation sound terrible. I'd almost rather have the test be ridiculously hard and force me to claw my way to a decent grade than do well and have it bumped down to fit the curve.
Good luck though! What material is being covered?

I was cackling to myself w/ some of the exam questions in this class, though.
"Holly is shaving her legs for a hot date tonight. In a moment of carelessness and tragedy, her hand slips and she cuts off everything inferior to the femur on both legs. How many bones did she lose?"
Not her shaving her legs with a damn machete.

I'm crafting my research proposal rn, it's such a weird feeling. Like, "hey I don't think anyone has done this before, can I take a stab at it?"

FFFFFFFFFFF I CAN'T, I'M TRYING TO IMAGINE HOW THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE
As for curves, most professors at my university/in my major seem to only do them if it helps the students.

let's see...
human factors psychology - B
quantitative methods (this class is just as ridiculous as it sounds) - B (i have an online quiz this weekend, so this might change...hopefully not for the worse :|)
environmental science - A
world history - A
computer science - C
lookin pretty good for now. my quantitative methods class is at 9 AM and i've slept through it three times, though :| i really need to stop doing that, but i'm really bad at waking up in the morning...i fall back asleep once i've woken up, it's the struggle
my human factors grade should stabilize in the future because we're doing a bunch of assignments that are essentially entirely based on participation soon. i have a test in that soon, though, and i got a 70/100 on the last test :/ some of the questions he gives on those make no sense
i have my first exam in computer science next week, yuck...and it's 15% of my grade and i never have any idea what's going on in that class apparently there's a review the day before the exam, but i don't know if that'll be enough :| also, the syllabus says homework is 5% of our grade, but he's literally never given us a homework assignment
my A's are so great though. i have a 97.5% in environmental science and a 100% in history. sometimes i like to go into the school website and look at those to make me feel better about myself lmao
...i'm rambling here because school is like 50% of my life so i talk about it all the time

Morning classes are the worst, especially if you don't live on campus.

I'm stuck and stressed out!
I'm applying for this perfect internship position and it requires two references, but I only have 1
I don't know what to do! I went to my advisor today to be friendly and ask questions about a class I'm in of his and he said he didn't know i was in his class!
There goes that, I'll be too embarrassed to ask him. Can I only send 1 in? Can I fake the second one?
I need advice

Just ask! Any good professor will go out of his way to write a student a recommendation even if he doesn't know you too well. My best professor ever said to his intro class that he will never turn down a student's request for a reference, and even if you think he doesn't know you well enough, he can recommend based on work in the class and general attitude.
Also y'all omg. This internship I sort of kinda have is perfect. It's like in the perfect part of LA, and I'll be living downtown, which for me will be so fun. I'm trying to get another internship too though in the Santa Monica area. omg I'm fapping over these prospects. Can't wait for rooftop bars during happy hour and a medical marijuana license Plus can't wait to pretend to be an adult with a kinda ~real~ job, and my company throws the most insanely lavish events. omg

Wow wish I had that professor. Okay I guess I'll ask on Friday during his next office hours...how should I ask?
I'm gonna make up a little lie that they want an academic reference and explain to him he's the most fit for that
Should I apply first and then ask if I get the interview? Or should I ask first him first?
And wow your internship sounds great. My potential internship is unpaid and has no cool benefits. But I would be working in a national park studying species diversity and natural resource management which I'm excited for. Hopefully I can get it.

Oh...
My......
God.........
I didn't get accepted for my college's London - King's College study abroad program for next year. I was WELL above the requirements and it's a new program and I was going for the whole year so I should've gotten in. I am DEVASTATED... I was counting on this to help boost my GPA before trying to transfer to Northwestern/NYU/etc. And to NOT be at my current college which I ****ing hate. Not to mention I was so excited and invested in the idea.
I don't know what to do now. Northwestern's transfer application deadline isn't due until the middle of March but I only have a 3.53 right now and that's below their 3.7 average. I have a 34 ACT but I don't know if they would care as much after the first year of college.
**** my life.

Anyone from Howard University on here? I am just curious about the strength of their math program compared to other schools if I get in? Do they have good professors? Specifically interested in the act sci concentration as well.

Anyone in law school or has attended law school here? I am still waiting on a couple of schools, but im conflicted if I should follow the money or not
I got full ride at Arizona State Law (26 in nation), but got into higher ranked schools except with a lot less money. I'm thinking I should just do Arizona because I don't have any debt/loans from undergrad and my masters, so it would be great to graduate law school debt free too.

I just applied and it is a pretty lengthy process. If you have specific questions I could try to answer how my process went this year and what I needed to do.

In a few days, my main universities I want to go to will start sending out letters. I'm so nervous, I'm literally a mess right now.
