There are 9-12 non pop songs charting on the published top 50. That's around 20%.
That's still a lot less than 15 years ago, and the non-Pop songs in the Top 50 don't sound much different than what's already on Top 40. Back in the early 2000s there was a much greater variety. I'd reprogram the Top 40 stations back on my car radio if the genre accepted a real variety of music. Pop was still in the majority, but with almost half of what else was played on those stations coming from other formats Top 40 was far more tolerable.
