But the state is more conservative so I don't think we would believe such a radical ideal. The state is already is so much financial trouble. Free college? Yeah right.

Bernie could've make a splash in Louisiana with younger voters. Our public universities are facing one of the biggest budget cuts in state history for the second year in a row with higher education. Our statewide scholarship program, TOPS, was suspended due to limited funds for a bit, only to be reinstated the next day with partial payments. That action had TOPS trending on Twitter for over an entire day in the US. My mom and step dad were PISSED. Both of my little sister are on TOPS scholarships. It's no big deal for helping one child in college, but to have TWO at the same time? OUCH.
I don't believe "free tuition" talk Bernie spills will work or pass for that matter, but he tends to get the younger votes and he could've easily gone to LSU and made a splash. My younger sister and some of her friends at LSU are undecided, but they love them some Bernie still. He won't win here, but he could've maybe had it between 12 - 18%. He'll possibly lose between 18 - 25% out here, maybe even more.
